The Climate Change Committee is actively driving The Pepperell Landfill Community Solar Project.
The project seeks to the develop a community solar photovoltaic array at the Town’s former landfill, located at 66 Boynton Street in Pepperell.
The Climate Change Committee applied for and was awarded a$15,000 grant to hire a consultant to do further research and propose and create an implementation plan for the project.

The Pepperell Landfill Community Solar Project seeks to the develop a community solar photovoltaic array at the Town’s former landfill, located at 66 Boynton Street in Pepperell. Covering about 6 acres of a 66-acre parcel owned by the Town, the landfill was capped and closed in 1998. The Town continues to operate a waste transfer and recycling station adjacent to the landfill.

Our expectation is to have a final report by our consultant by late July / early August. We hope to have an implementation plan in place and possibly start receiving quotes by the end of the year.
